If you had all the free time in the world, what would you do?
Shockingly enough, the free time isn’t always the issue. The hustle mentality latches on tightly. Pressing against parts of your brain that long for quiet, for calm. Pushing you to do more. To be more. To want more.
If there’s anything I’ve learned from all of the uncertainty during the past 2.5 years, it’s that my intuition knows best. There’s no point running myself into the ground if the ground is always going to be muddy. There’s no point pushing myself over the edge if I don’t have support at ground level. My body, my brain - they know what’s up. And despite my continuous attempts to ignore them, they won’t be quiet. So it’s better to just listen right away.
Work with people you like.
Do things that make your heart happy.
Move your body every day.
Laugh often.
Check in with your people.
Be kind - even when it hurts.
Don’t be afraid to learn.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes - failure is only failure if we walk away and ignore it all.
Passion is important. Dreams are important. Finding balance is important.
Never stop being who you are.
Cultivate new hobbies.
Play more.
Above all else, be the kind of person people talk about when you aren’t there. In the most positive way. In the most inspired light. Light up rooms and fill them with belly laughs and do NOT let your ego run the show. One day you’re going to have a lot of free time on your hands, so fill the memory banks up now and have things to look back to.
